Hi Randi,

I had a Staghorn fern once. Mine was attached to a rattan piece w/moss inside and a little soil-some people do this so they can hang it on the wall and just pour water over it. But in your case, with the pot, I'd submerge the pot in the sink w/some water and let it sit for a half hour. It will have soaked up all the water it needs. They do like to be misted daily, and dont give it much light. This is one of the ferns that can tolerate room air well. Good luck and enjoy that fern, they are beautiful!

I bought a staghorn french 2 weeks ago and already it has grown considerably. I read somewhere on the internet that these make bad house plants because they get so huge. But I want it for a house plant, even it goes into a huge pot. Has anyone successfully kept it indoors and not have it take over the room? I have it on a pebble tray just above the water line and it gets just a little dappled sunshine during the day. Thanks.
