| Hello, I am new to this forum,I have a question about a fern I have,the name is.'Athyrium Frizelliae'Last fall I bought this fern and just fell in love with it, I have managed to keep it alive and healthy all winter,my question is this, can I cut it apart like you would a hosta?I would like very much to get a couple of more plants from this one,Is this possiable,and at what time of the year Is the best time to do this?Thank you,Just1more |

| Yes, you can. If you look closely at the base, does it seem to have one than one "clump" of stems? If so, that's a natural place to divide it. Not so different from hostas, I think. But I would only do it if there seems to be a natural pair (or more) of groups. |

| I agree with the above recommendation. Athyrium ferns are easy to divide compared with Osmundas. |
