Book on mosses

With the advent of the internet I am wondering if books on mosses are really needed.
Would you rather have a book on Mosses or just use what you can find on the internet?
If you would want a book what kind of price range do you think it should be in?
Do you think that there is much interest in mosses or growing mosses?
Please leave your comments as there are some out there who are considering spending the time and the money to publish books or related materials on mosses and your comments may help them gauge the merit of their inclination.
Thanks.

RE: Book on mosses

I still love to read and have bought the only good book on mosses I can find - George Schenk's. Would rather curl up under a blanket in the dead of winter with a book while I wait for gardening season, then sit in front of my computer that I already sat at all day on the job.

Yes, we still need books on mosses!

I would most like to know more about building gardens with moss... and see photos. Not just the japanese gardens with full time gardeners, but how a homeowner can do it, trials and tribulations, tricks that may really work to grow moss (do any really work such as buttermilk or beer with moss in a blender... haven't for me) . I also enjoy the history of moss gardening. I think expanding to lichens and etc. is also fair game.
I wouldn't be as interested in identifying and naming varieties in a scientific type layout... although perhaps any good moss book should have this info. I want ideas, tricks, advice, pictures!!

I would pay what the book was worth. A really good book with lots of info and good color photos is worth $40 or so dollars. A paperback with only b&w pics and less info may only be worth $15. But since there is so little literature available on moss it would be worth something regardless of the size and quality and I would probably buy it!

I think it is a small interest niche but those of us who are interested are REALLY INTERESTED!
