Need expert advice

I have some nice areas of moss on a shady hill in a wooded section of my yard. I also have a large hemispherical mound of cement that I would like to cover with the same moss. I am aware of mixing moss and buttermilk in a blender to start the process.

My questions; will the cement being alkaline prevent growing the moss? Since the moss is evergreen, is now a good time to try this? Would there be any advantage to covering the mixture with a dusting of say peat moss to get things going? Would covering with heavy plastic help or hurt or should I stick with just misting to keep it damp? All the conditions for the new culture are identical to that where the parent moss is coming from so unless the cement is a problem, I think it might be worth a shot. ???

Thanks in advance for any education you can provide.

Jon
