During a recent Home and Garden Show a week ago, I purchased an Adiantum Raddianum Veriegatum from a local fern society in a 4" plastic pot (needs to be moved soon to a bigger pot). The plant is about 11" tall and 16" wide.
I was told that placing it near an East facing kitchen window would be fine. I also followed the recommended watering schedule (once a week along with the other indoor plants).
Problem... I recently discovered that the tiny leaves were shriveling and had to move it.
Additional facts... the kitchen window faces East and is 5' by 6'; the kitchen was used to cook only at night days prior to the problem. The plant was watered twice in the three days prior to this problem. Local high temps in the area have ranged from 66-84.
The plant has been watered again & been moved into a bathroom with an East facing window made of colored glass.
My question to you: if you have any experience with this fern, (a) what happened and (b) any suggestions? more or better instructions?
TIA,
Luis
