Does anyone have experience with this fern? I'm looking for an evergreen, non-invasive specimen plant for a 3X5 foot shady space flanked by strips of mature Green Mountain boxwoods. In front of this space is an "endless summer" hydrangea and some pachysandra. Nearby is a small white pine shrub, a harlequin euonymous shrub, a Japanese maple and a few very small azaleas. In back of it is an (ugh!) 6-foot cedar fence built by our neighbors. It's a small garden, but an important one, because our main picture window faces it, four seasons a year. Does anyone have any experience with this at all? Can you tell me more about its pros and cons? Has anyone in the Chicago area tried it?
