Some Fern questions.

I am sure it actually depends on the fern, but I don't have any pics of it right now and I don't know what type of fern it is called.

I have a fern I bought in the summer in a hanging pot and it's the only plant I have that looks terrible! I have it indoors now because of the winter, and it is deteriorating. It barely gets any sunlight, where after a couple months, it seems like that's what it wanted (it was growing new leaves and stuff) but now they keep dying. I don't water it that often, mostly cause it's such a pain in the butt to water, being so heavy and big and then I have to clean the tub afterwards!

Do ferns generally need a lot of water? Is that the problem?

It will be fine until spring when I can put it outside, it just makes me sad to see so many brown leaves!

Does it need more sun then I thought it did? Is there a good site you can refer me to so I can try to identify it?
