Fern suggestions for DFW area? Dappled sun.

Hi, I planted Christmas fern under high canopy shade (some dappling) western facing, in front of my picture window. They are now down to a few pitiful fronds.

I need a fern that will take the low late afternoon sun that comes under the trees in summer. All my neighbors have holly ferns, but I'm not fond of those at all.

Any suggestions?

I'm in Fort Worth and have almost total shade. Autumn ferns are beautiful as are the tassel leaf ferns. They are on the north side of my house and usually stay evergreen. I have a leatherleaf fern that get the 6 to 8P.M. sun and it thrives. This one will die back all the way to the ground in winter though. I have a 10 year old holly fern as big as a barn and my neighbors are jealous of it. It could be worth your wait in the long run.

I'm quite fond of Staghorn ferns myself. :))))))
