Anyone used Espoma Soil Acidifier for Moss?

I have a moss garden half planted with new (moved from elsewhere) moss.

I tested the soil, and it's currently about a 7.0.

I bought some Espoma brand "Soil Acidifier". It's granular, Guranteed Analysis: 30% Sulfur; derived from Elemental Sulfur and Gypsum.

The bag says, "For Organic Gardening; Safer than Aluminum Sulfate."

It says you can use it around the base of the plant (I suppose they mean hydrangeas). Broadcast Rates are "12 lbs per 100 sq foot for each one point reduction in soil pH desired."

As I said, my moss garden is half planted. On the bare soil, I can broadcast this stuff.

My question (finally!) is this: will this stuff hurt the moss if I broadcast it directly onto the moss?

Anyone know?

Anyone wanna guess?

Thanks so much!

I would not bother using the Espoma if you have already
planted moss. I think the Espoma is best dug into the soil
before planting.
Also a pH of 7 is ok for mosses. Not all mosses like acidic
soils. What you need to test is your water. Is it quality water, like rain water, deionized, or reverse osmosis or just city water that is buffered to 7.0. The biggest problem for any moss would be salt build up on the moss if your water is hard. If the house is older check the outside
faucets to see if any kind of salt build up is evident on the tap.
Otherwise don't worry about the soil.
