Scotch moss looking rough after the thaw

Planted scotch moss last summer to fill in the space between some flag stones. Did great and slowly spread but still has a way to go.
After the thaw this year some of them that were doing well look a bit rough. Brown or dead spots, matted, etc. Are they pretty hardy and will they come back?

Anything special I should do to get them jumpstarted? I already have all purpose fertilizer that I can spread around for them in a month or so. I can take pictures if that helps.

I am wondering the same thing... Thanks for the post. I'm in Zone 7 (Utah) Super hot and down to -10 at times.
I have heard "DO NOT use fertilizer (in times like this)" as it will burn your plants. The reason it is not coming back is hardyness issues not lack of nutrients.
What setting is the moss in? Full sun, partial, close by a fence, house...
Is it dying out in clumps or are the edges of the plants dying out?

Mine have some green starting to show but the edges are just brown, matted and dried out. Some of them the same towards the center.
Is this normal and typical in early spring? Should I trim these spots away? The are in a pretty much full sun spot.
