Scottish Moss

| My husband and I made a patio last year with flagstone and scottish moss and the moss is growing beautifully, but there are weeds i.e. grass and clover growing through the middle of some of them. When I try to pull them the whole moss almost comes out. My question is what do I use to kill the weeds only? Thanks for any replies.

| I'm kicking this up because we just planted (today) Scotch Moss to fill in around flagstone. I was not expecting this problem and would love to avoid it! |

mcsix... it's terrible, and very upsetting because we don't know what to use to kill the weeds. The mounds are currently brown with new shoots blooming. When we planted last year it was beautiful but now I am regretting it. Anyone out there, really need your help with this problem. |

| Lexxi, I'm kicking this up again. Hoping.... You might get some help from stepables.com That's where we got our Scotch Moss, and they seemed extremely customer friendly. |

Hi Different plants same problem . SM is only annual here due to the summer heat but i grow several selaginellas and some tropical tailers. . Have never found a way to keep the weeds down except get on my hands and knees and pull each weed lol. I've more or less given up on the idea for this reason . If you find an answer please share . When weed free the plantings look fantastic. gary |

| Okay, went to stepables....they have NOTHING to prevent the weeds. This past weekend went to our local garden shop and the girl gave us a scotch moss to experiment with. Hubby is going to try a couple of sprays on it. Mcsix... will let you know what we come up with! Lexxi |
