| I have it planted under trees but it does get some late afternoon sun and some filtered sun. What causes it to turn brown and crispy. |

| Ours turned brown also - allowed it to dry out. It came back (small leaved variety did not the large leaf) but it was definately hurt. We now use a water grabber type product (gel) and mix it 1 part to 6 parts soil whenever we buy new ferns that will be severely hurt by lack of water. Seems to be working out. |
