Can you recommend a fern?

I'm looking for a fern which will fit these requirements: it needs to be able to take some filtered sun, should be around 2 ft tall, is lacy in texture & upright (no holly ferns), will spread readily, and can take the zone 8 heat in the summer. I have sprinklers, so I should be able to keep the area wet, but there is spotty tree coverage, which means some sun. I have planted cinnamon ferns, lady ferns, painted ferns and one tassle fern. I really like the look of the cinnamons, but these don't seem to want to spread, and they like to fall over (not sure why). The ladies & the painteds seem to be doing OK, but they're not tall enough. I'm looking to create a sort of naturalized looking drift of ferns. Thanks for any help you can give!
