Transitioning to a moss lawn: Herbicide disaster

I am afraid I have killed everything. My man at Southern States recommended I spray the grass with Glysophate and not spray the moss. He said the moss might turn a bit brown but would come back. My lawn looks like a dirt pan with wire grass bones. I haven't watered yet, but certainly don't want to put down transplanted moss until I am sure the herbicide is finished. This is my first experience with a chemical and it's sobering. I feel like agent orange.

I donÂt really know what to do. Anyone have any suggestions? Go easy on me, I feel like a murderer.
