falling fronds

well_drained

I recently purchased and planted three small interrupted ferns - it's a shady spot in a fairly moist (but not wet) area. I have been watering regularly. A few days after I planted them, several stalks (not sure this is the right term) on each fern leaned over onto the ground, where they have stayed ever since. Not dead -- the fronds are healthy and green, but not standing up straight. Is this normal? Is is because the fertile fronds are heavy? Is it because I planted them wrong? Or they are not getting enough water?

I'd be interested in any advice. If it's normal, that's fine -- I don't need them to be standing straight up.
