Mounting huge old staghorn - suggestions?

Hi folks,

I have a huge (4' x 4+'), 30 year-old staghorn fern colony (ripped year before last from its tree when the tree had to be pulled down) and am looking for ideas for remounting it. Its currently leaning against a grapestake fence that is too weak to support it as a hanging item (it wieghs rather a lot). I was thinking of making some kind of tripod stand for it to get it up off the ground (so I can clean under it mostly), but am stymied by its weight and don't know how much support it needs in terms of spaghnum, etc. So far it seems to be happy as all get out with weekly hose drenchings and all-purpose fertilizer (via can sprinkling) about every 3-4 weeks.

Does anybody have any ideas about dimensions/design/etc. for a support for this venerable old critter?

Thanks!
