re-hydrating my maidenhair fern

bosewichte

Although I'm notorious at forgetting to water my houseplants, I fell in love with a maidenhair fern 'little lady' and bought it a couple of months ago. I've done a good job of keeping the soil moist and spritzing the green from time to time, but I got busy this week and let it go for a few days. Since it's in a teeny tiny pot, it dried up.

I immediately doused the soil and spritzed the leaves, but there is a small brown crunchy section of them and the rest of the leaves (fronds?) feel a little brittle. Now, this is only after a few days, so I'm hoping that I can salvage it. I don't want to OVERwater it, though. Any advice on re-hydrating this fern? Should I keep it soaking in a pan of water until it's re-hydrated, or should I just continue to water it once a day and hope it snaps back?

Thanks!
