Christmas ferns dead?

I purchased 3 christmas fern bareroots about a month ago. They were in a clear plastic bag and I cant remember if they had sprouts when I bought them. When I opened the bag yesterday they seemed very dry and no sprouts. Are they dead or is there still hope for them? (I did pot them up and watered real good in hopes there's still life in them)

If they are still alive be ready to be patient withthem. Mine took for ever to emerge their first spring. A Month is a bit long to have delayed planting them. The sooner the better usually.
