Mystery fern

Posted by elkek MN (My Page) on

I have a sprig of fern that has no spores on the underside of its leaves, but has a reddish-brown process coming out the top of them stem that's covered with small reddish brown spheres. It's been living in a cup of tap water since November of last year.

Does anyone know how I would go about trying to plant this?

I haven't seen anything like it since, so it would be great to see if I can keep it alive and get it growing.

Thanks!

Sounds kind of like Cinnamon Fern. Is it just one frond, or do you have an entire plant?

Here is a link that might be useful: Cinnamon Fern pic
