I live in zone 3b and would love to have some ferns. Any recommendations for fern varieties in colder cimates?

RE: Fern Hardiness

These show as being hardy to Montana: Lady fern (Athyrium filix-femina), Nothern hollyfern (Polystichum lonchitis ), Western brackenfern (Pteridium aquilinum) are a few that I found as being native to Montana. There may be others that are hardy there. I would ask on whatever regional forum (Northern gardening forum?) supports Montana to see what ideas people there have.

Here is a link that might be useful: Northern gardening forum

RE: Fern Hardiness

I think Woodsias are among the hardiest. Read through a fern book and look at hardiness ratings.
