Last week I got a long overdue roof replacement. While I am very pleased not to have to worry about it anymore, I am very sad that the roofers completely trampled the beautiful Japanese painted ferns that had finally become established in my front shade garden, under my pecan tree. Does anyone know if they will come back and if there is anything I can do to help them along? I don't want to buy new ones at this point because I think it's already too hot and because I want to see if the others come back. They also trampled several hostas, a heuchera I had just planted and a Columbine that had bloomed there for the first time.
