I was helping a lady clean a place for a realtor. There are many many old baskets and dead looking ferns? I know she had some staghorns that were taken by one lady and today I noticed that one that had spikey leaves were still growning. Can I take it and soak it a bit before planting..to help it revive. This one was in a pouch on a board and when I tried to take down, it all came...

Also there are a few that look like maidenhair fern but have the same sorta pod? that a staghorn does. Should I just water and see if it perks up or should I soak it also for a while in the wire hanging basket.

And in one of the flower pots in a plastic bag I found an envelope that says dried stag horn seed pods. Can I grow these in a regular soil to begin with?

Sorry I sound so stupid but I have always wanted some but never got one.
