Fern in container

I bought a spinulose wood fern and a large round container. Here are my questions: what soil blend should I put in container? (one person has said straight peat, another gave me a list of things--most that I don't have) Here are the "ingredients" I have on hand--compost, perlite, vermiculite, top soil, sphagnum peat moss, different fertilizers, water absorbing crystals, bone meal, aluminum sulfate, organic sulfer. Which ones should I use and it what amount? And next: what plants, besides a fern, would do well in this soil? It will be on my porch, in an area which gets minimal sun. Thanks so much! Tamara
