can I grow an Ostrich fern indoors?

My neighbor has quite a few Ostrich ferns growing in her back yard, and I think they're absolutely stunning plants. I would LOVE to grow one of them indoors, but will they be happy there? Also, how would I go about propagating them? They'd look very cool in a long raised bed in front of my house!

Thanx for any advice you can give me!

To dig one up, just take a sharp shovel and cut between two of them (they grow on creeping rhizomes) - this is really just propagating by division. Many people get their starts this way.

You can try growing it indoors and if it seems to decline, plant it outside. I think it would be happier outside.
