Help! Help! My staghorn is dropping it's new leaves! The old growth seems strong, with mature leaves around 10 inches long.

it just recently started dropping leaves at about 4 inches. I've kept it indoors, although the temp. is increasing here while the humidity changes frequently. Maybe needs more water?

Or less sunlight? Please help, I can send pics if necessary. soaked it tonight, thinking I might drown out pests, and found a very small snail.
