Fern identification

Posted by yardmom (My Page) on

Hi!
I have 2 ferns that grow wild on the north side of my house and I would like to identify them. Can anyone help me with this? I am hoping to find out at least what type they are. I don't know anything about ferns though I have bought several new ones this year.
This first one is the fine cut one in the foreground.

or this one?

The first one looks like it could be Lady Fern (Athyrium felix-femina) but there are a bunch of ferns that look similar; where are you located?

The second one is Sensitive Fern (Onoclea sensibilis).

I am located in northeast Maryland, borderline zone 6/7

It probably is lady fern then.
