Be careful what you wish for lol I thought one ould look cute amoung the orchids and it ended up growing every where..
In Chicago you won't have that problem I'm sure . keep the humidity high and give them something to climb on.

Well, he is in a little 6" hanging basket, its a cheapie little plastic pot, so i feel like i should probably repot it now into a basket that is actually mildly attractive before the little rhizomes grow around the whole thing. I think ill either keep it in my bathroom or kitchen where there are norther facing windows, but get shaded from really bright light from the neighbors giant tree. If my indoor humidity isn't high, should i try misting it every day or so?

I have this fern. Mine is now potted in an unglamorous plastic hanging pot, with a metal hanger. Initially it was potted in a clay pot, but the medium dried out too quickly, and the little roots that emerge from the rhizomes began clinging to the terra cotta. Although this kind of looked neat, I worried that one day I would need to repot the thing and I would potentially damage a lot of growth if it was all clinging to the pot. The roots do not seem to cling to plastic. Another bonus of the plastic is that it is much lighter. I find that the shape of the plastic pot also seems to suit the growth habit of the fern a little better, since it has a shallower, rounded base.

Mine is hanging in the bathroom window, and the window is south-facing. The glass is "obscure" glass, so it diffuses the light. I think this species can handle quite a bit of indirect, bright sunlight. My advice would be to determine what will allow the fern to grow best under your conditions, and then choose a pot - it doesn't matter to me what the pot looks like because it is being slowly overwhelmed by the rhizomes.
