Re:anyone know name of this fern?

I dont think its a Rattlesnake or Oak or even a Grape fern, but I have this one in my tiny little woodlands, the individual leaflets look different than the ones I have looked up. Will try and post picture...Not real sucessful on this....It seems to be a hit or miss for me..thanks..Tom

The woody stem on that seems to indicate it is a tree seedling, not a fern.

esh in GA. thanks for the clue..I am looking at trees in the neighborhood, one is a mountain ash, I pulled a set of leaves off of it and I am comparing it to my photograph. looks pretty similar, but I will keep my eye on this little fellow for a little while..Wow ,I was really hoping I found a new fern on my little mini woodlands as I have many types of larger ferns and about three different types of grape ferns and I am looking for the common rattlesnake fern, have not had any sucess on that one yet. but birds and animals are always bringing me new stuff.thanks ....Tom

Definitely not a fern, and my guess was mountain ash even before reading that that species grows in the area.
