Just how sensitive is...

Onoclea sensibilis.

I found one at my local nursery...it absolutely caught my eye so i brought it home to the shade garden. I spilt it in three as it was big and established and had 3 obvious sections to it. It wasn't a precision split, in fact, it was pretty brutal but I did manage to have a piece of the crown on each section and intact roots. So, will they survive? One was a bit floopy so I supported the fronds with garden stakes. I've never divided a fern before and I've never grown a fern before except for the 3 native ones my neighbor gave me and they seem indestructible. Is this true for all ferns?

thanks so much! :)) gf
