First, Can someone tell me what the name is of these ferns and how tall they can grow? I'll post another photo.

My problem is (aside from being planted in the wrong spot)these tree ferns are growing up into the tree. If I dig them up and move them, what are the chances they will survive? Is it pointless to trim the tree in order to give more clearance for the ferns?

I did not plant these here~ whoever landscaped this yard did and they are so beautiful. If it were up to me I'd give the tree a major trim but I've been told the tree is very sentimental and to leave it alone.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
