Hmmm i'm wondering if this is the plant thats commonly called a fern but is in fact an Asparagus and hence totally unrelated to ferns,being a flowering plant. Is there a pic?

I have two asparagus ferns (although they are not really ferns) that I've planted in the ground in early Spring. I was told at the nursery that they'd die back in the Winter, but would return again next year. But no one else I've talked to has had this experience. Has anyone had luck with them coming back the following year? If so, are you doing anything special to them, cutting back, covering, etc? They are thriving, so if I have to dig up & put in pots, I will to save them, but would really rather have them in the ground. They get morning sun & afternoon shade & I'm in Georgia where the winters are faily mild. Thanks!
