Mad About P. madagasacriense

RainforestGuy

Platycerium madagascariense is a very sought after species of staghorns. A smaller grower and not as vigorous as an alcicorne or bifurcatum, this species clumps and grows in a steady pace.

One of my goals would be to grow these true species using spores from multiple unrelated clones of madagascariense. To my knowledge, all the spore-origin sporelings of this species is from spore culture from a single plant.

My plan is to sow several unrelated plants of P. madagascariense together and allow fertilization to take place between two unrelated clones of P. madagascariense.

My understanding is to achieve a vigor because of having two unrelated spores match and germinate.
