| Very thick and inflexible. Even a little more purple than came across on these photos. Prominent ring around the edge quite dark. Attached Gills. No sign of a veil that I could detect. Thanks!

| I don't know what it is, but I do know that it's not violet cort, which if felt-like on top. The purples are some of my favorites. |

| Was it growing on woody debris? I'm leaning towards Lepista nuda (wood blewit) which is quite a variable species. A pale pink spore print would confirm this ID. Incidentally the delicious variety I grow on my woodchip beds produces specimens just like the one in your photo. |
