Growing Platycerium wallichii

RainforestGuy

This species is another so called deciduous species that can withstand drying. These monsoonal species grows where definite wet and dry seasons occur. To survive the dry periods, plants must adapt methods to survive. This species has been known to withstand such droughts.

My plants have grown well despite never having green shield fronds except when they are newly emerging.

Most of the time they get battered and dry to a shredded brown.

Their energy is put into the fertile fronds which are more permanent and somewhat succulent.

Its distinct venetian separates this from all other species of platyceriums.
