Mushroom growing???

It has rained here for a week straight with very mild temperatures. This weather gave rise to the growth of a myriad of different mushrooms.Their beauty made me question..."can i pot up these mushrooms and grow them?"I planted a small variety of mushrooms that grows on leaves in an old vegetable steamer full of semi decomposed leaf matter from my compost pile.(i got the mycelium too) I also planted an enchanting variety of large brown and yellow mushrooms in a pot of potting soil,leaves,compost, and dirt. Can i expect any success? should i do anything different? Any tips? please help me out on this one!

I'm going to say "no". As soon as the recyclable material in the containers has been digested by the fungus body, it will die if it can't move elsewhere to new territory. The mushrooms, after all, are merely a fleeting fruiting body of the important part of the fungus...which is hidden out of sight and out of mind.

If the environment conditions aren't perfect, the fungus will cease reproduction.

If i repotted it from time to time or switched out the substrate, would the answer continue to be...no?
