Davallia mystery

Hello all!

I noticed an all-pervasive covering of something on my Davallia today. I thought it was scale at first, but they aren't really shaped like scale... they're round (not flat), pinkish white, immobile, come off easily...

The crozier that has the most of these "things" on it has taken on a bronzy color. Does anyone have an idea?

Thanks!!

yikes! they look like mealy-bugs. If you do a search in google images, you'll see some images that look like it.
