Fern peeps; I need your guidance! Others know nothing!

Hello everyone,

Earlier today I bought a pair of really nice-looking Autumn Ferns, along with 3 Ghost Ferns. Very cool as well, in my opinion. All are between 8" to 12" tall, not counting the pots of course. The plant tags for the Autumn recommend "Feed frequently during growing season with all-purpose fertilizer" while the tag for the Ghost..."Ferns(in general?? IDK) are commonly very sensitive to most types of fertilizers..." and they recommend soil rich in organic material, NO FERTILIZER...I ask a few employees, I get conflicting advice. Same with the internet...Fern Forum, please help me! I'm not necessarily looking for State Fair Blue Ribbons here, just would like to prep my cool new plants for Winter without killing/weakening them! I'm planting tomorrow (in nice good-quality amended soil; not my issue)...I humbly ask for your advice, based on YOUR healthy, beautiful ferns...Help me Obi-Wan, you're my only hope...

Thank you all very much,

Don B.
