Does anyone know what the name and type of moss that is growing between my stepping stones.....it is so invasive... it grows where there is lots of water.......I purchased a plant a couple of years ago and this moss was growing around the stem and I think that is where it came from. I need it to be identified so I could find out how to eliminate it. Thank you in anticipation of a reply.

It is not a moss. It is Marchantia polymorpha.
I would not use herbicide on it. But since it likes lots of water just dry the area out and when the plant is dried up then peel the dried plants off the ground.

Here is a link that might be useful: Info
