Help with Staghorn Fern !?
I just got a Staghorn Fern from Target this week, it's a small one but it came planted in dirt, I have been reading that they need to be planted in moss, I would like to put it in a hanging metal basket, should I just fill the whole basket with moss and set the plant in there or what? Should I remove the dirt it's in? Please help I don't want to kill it. Thanx

I would shake off any loose dirt but leave whatever dirt is snuggled in the roots. Then surround it with sphagnum moss to fill the basket. They seem to like being sideways as though they're on a tree trunk. You can soak the whole rootball every now and again but they REALLY love being misted, I mean like every day!
Good luck! I've had mine for a couple of years and I love it!
