Staghorn Superbum Help Needed

I left this P. Superbum in a pot too long and the top part of the shield fronds started growing straight up. Now that I have mounted it, I am worried that the plant will grow deformed. Would it harm the plant if I trim all frond points growing straight out in this photo and bring it back toward the board? Will this help the next set of shield fronds to grow correctly? I would hate to loose the plant this way, but also dont' want it to grow deform.

Trimming off or pruning healthy fronds is only damaging the plant and setting it back. It will eventually set itself "right" when those fronds age and become overgrown by new ones. You're better off leaving it.
