Help some insect eating my ferns

I have many different varieties of Fern, as my garden is very shady.

I recieved about 20 Sensitive fern clumps from a good friend this Spring. I planted them and soon they were sending up new leaves. As soon as the new leaves emerged something began eating them. I put down Sluggo( a pet /bird safe Snail and slug bait. That seemed to work fine.

I also have a clump of Lady Fern, which is forming a nice little colony nearby. Nothing seemed to bother them and they were really spreading nicely. All of a sudden some pest started stripping the leaves all the way down to the stem.(;-O. I just put down more Sluggo.

Any ideas what may be preying on these ferns? I don't have Rabbits,or Deer. I live in the suburbs with a fenced in yard with Huskie and Lab.

I thought about putting some Sevin Dust, but I water daily so it would get washed away. I was thinking I could mix some with a little water and spray it on nightly. I have never really had anything eaton my Ferns beforeI have lived here 6 years.

Any ideas please email me directly as I may never find this thread again.Lol

Thanks
