Predicted low of 44 degrees...will Boston fern be ok outside?

Hi,

I put a large Boston Fern out for the summer and haven't gotten it ready to come in yet. It is supposed to be a low of 44 degrees tonight but the rest of the week over 50 degrees every night. Will it be ok outside tonight or should I bring it in now? I have to divide it and repot it and haven't the time to do it now, but I could just bring it in kitchen near the backdoor for the night and do it tomorrow.

Boston Ferns are hardy in Zone 9 (20°F). I have 2 on tall pedestals near my patio that have been exposed to 4 consecutive night temperatures of mid to upper 20's this year and had no damage.

Wow Rb...I really didn't think they would stand temps that low. Really good to know. I did bring mine in for the night last night and I hope to repot it in the house and not take it outside again. It would have been less messy outside, but that's the way it goes. Thanks :-)

Well there's no way a Boston would survive if planted out over here. Its a houseplant,it don't like frost. But then I suppose there are many species of Nephrolepis.
