Am in the process of potting up the last of 5 trays of hardy ferns, probably from the same source you are considering. All have healthy roots and some have fully filled the tray compartments. Some are robust, with fronds 6-8" tall, others are rather dininutive, only 1-3"
. Check availibility of your selections. Some listed plants may not be currently available. The one's I'm now potting were on BO for several months and shipment was delayed(my option) for a month due to possible excessive temperature exposure during surface transportation.

You may want to consider placing an order now for shipment in the spring, after your last freeze date. Since they will be shipped in the green, from a greenhouse environment, they will need to be gradually acclimated to the outdoors over a period of a couple of weeks to avoid excessive die-back.

If this is the Dallas grower, they offer very good service, extremely good packing and always follow up with a call to check on the condition of the plants upom receipt.

Thanks Razorback33. I am looking at a http://www.perennialmarket.com. They are a spinoff from Garys perennials. I was hoping for the jumbo ostrich fern. But I don't have the facilities to care for young tender plants right now. I think I will settle for more mature ostrich ferns. They won't get as large but should have a better rate of survival.(Crosses fingers)
