No, no it hasn't! It hath ever been slow! That's why I dodge from Forum to Forum, to find the active Threads. This time of year, the ferns are looking ratty, too...so there's not much to photograph. Although, my (potted) Woodwardia fimbriata is looking thick and magnificent. I'll get some pictures in the next few days. By the way, excellent image! I love the word "rue," always have. In keeping with this theme, allow me to post this little gem by Housman: "WITH rue my heart is laden For golden friends I had, For many a rose-lipt maiden And many a lightfoot lad. By brooks too broad for leaping The lightfoot boys are laid; The rose-lipt girls are sleeping In fields where roses fade." Josh |

| I don't know why but i never get poetry. Always had a problem with it. Can't read Shakespeare either...would like to know what a Rue is tho. There's another plant called Rue and also the citrus family is Rutaceae! |

"Rue" just refers to a shade of "red" in general (rouge, rojo, cetera). In the poem above, rue is the heart-pang or the passionate blood that rushes to the heart when thinking fondly of old friends and lovers. American students, gawd bless them, can't stand Shakespeare either. But that doesn't mean I let them off the hook. "Macbeth" should be read, for the political violence as much as the language. Josh |
