Giant puffball mushrooms

Hi! I've recently discovered a few giant puffball mushrooms growing in my backyard. One of them is getting pretty giant.

I'm not planning to eat them.

My question is - should i remove them before they burst and spread a billion gazillion spores later on? Or should I just leave them be?

If you are absolutely sure it's a puffball, Yum! Peel the leather like skin, if the inside is pure white-slice in 1/4 " slices, dip in beaten egg and fry in butter with salt and pepper till golden brown. You will then be hooked on them.
A further note: Puffballs don't have stems like regular mushrooms. Again be absolutely sure what you have.
