Spore viability of woodwardia

I was so delighted when I managed to acquire a Woodwardia unigemmata, but of course ended up killing it the first winter (didn't register that its hardiness is marginal and put it in a pot!!). It's always the ones you care most about that die... anyway, I didn't look carefully at the remains until just recently when I noticed that there were some dried-up sori on the dried up fronds. Do these have any chance of yielding fertile spores?
