It seems moss grows with just about any pH level, from acidic soil to limestone rocks. An old old old walkway trick: blend moss and milk in a blender and pour it in the cracks between flagstones. Keep moist, not wet, avoid strong sun.

can i do it with dry moss ?

I keep putting dried moss in a blender with water but unless it's in a gap or something it just gets washed around in the rain. Some people claim that adding buttermilk or yogurt works but others think it just grows mold or algae.

The main things about growing moss is the temperature of the air and of the soil, the amount of rain it receives and the nature of the light that reaches it. Do you have moss growing in the neighborhood or in the planters of a local shopping center?? If so collect those live and try and transplant to a similar type of spot in your yard or one that has been modified to approximate such conditions.
