Wooly aphids on Dicksonia

I have either wooly aphids or mealy bugs on my Dicksonia.

I was thinking to cut about half to 2/3 of the fronds off, then spray with a light soap solution.

But I'm worried- are ferns too fragile for the soap? Seems they may be, and I have no ideas what else to use, as this is a houseplant which I don't want anything more toxic sprayed indoors.

Thanks for any help.

Most authorities will warn against using insecticidal soap on ferns.

For future questions for your houseplant ferns, you may want to go to the Houseplant Forum, where indoor plants are discussed.

They are probably mealy bugs,try using(spraying on) a light coffee solution...this WILL send them packing(-:
