It's not all that difficult, but different mushrooms have different growing requirements. Shiitake and oysters mushrooms are pretty simple. Many of the best eating mushrooms (chanterells, porcini, etc) can not be grown indoors as they form a symbiotc relationship with trees. Two great books for cultivation are "Mushroom Cultivator: A Practical Guide to Growing Mushrooms at Home" and "Growing Gourmet and Medicinal Mushrooms" both by Paul Stamets. What type of mushroom were you interested in? You can also grow many edible/medicinal mushrooms in you garden with you vegetables.

I was thinking of something cool looking (jelly fugi, coral mushrooms, birdsnest fungi, earthstars, ect.), or somthing for my lizard's cage (He is a green anole, anolis caralinesis or something like that)
