What are you indoor sowing now?

I'm anxious to to get started with the new growing season and wondered what the flowers I can start this early. I'll start them in the basement under lights and later transfer them to an unheated greenhouse. I've always had trouble getting together a good planting schedule. Thanks for any suggestions. Sherry

I don't sow anything indoors at all. I am sowing all my perennial seeds now and set them outside in the cold/snow/freeze. I'll do my hardy annuals next month, then tender annuals in March. Everything is left outside in the cold. No growing light necessary. I started doing this last winter and had tremendous success.

Please check out the Winter Sowing forum. People have been are having a great time sowing since winter solstice.

I am interested in what everyone is planting indoors right now also. I am just itching to plant something. Last year though I started too early and the basement was a jungle earlier. By the time to plant though I had lost quite a few of the flower plants. It wasn't a total loss though as it kept me sane through the long winter. This winter has been so mild that up until now, I was able to resist the planting urge. I probably will try winter sowing also but like the indoor planting also.

I like the winter sowing, but I like to sow some things indoors too. I like to fuss over them!

The only thing I am getting ready to sow right now is double impatiens. The seed packet says to start them January 25th, so that's all for now.

Not really for cutting

But the double impatiens are not really for cutting, sorry.
